Subud Australia National Member Database project

This short video will quickly bring you up to date with this project. Even if not particularly interested in this topic we believe this is worth your time as this database will provide the infrastructure to facilitate many other Subud projects - including many that may be much dearer to your heart! How much will this project cost to setup?

Setup Costs are zero. Manpower is being volunteered by Rasjad Johnson and Jonathan Evans.

Software (Kajabi and Zapier) is being donated by Jonathan Evans as he already has licenses for these products.

How much will this cost to maintain?

Zero. With Caveats!

Manpower - for a simple implementation as shown in this walkthrough maintenance costs will be zero (Time volunteered by Jonathan and Rasjad or other members)

Software Costs - Zero as licenses already paid for.

Subud Membership Card App

There is an "App' that comes with this software and so we could explore the use of that as a Member Card App - there are restrictions to the use of Apps - not least that not all members have phones or the wish or know how to install an app on their phone - but we mention it here as a possible avenue of exploration.

Future Directions

This project as well as being of use in the ways shown in the video is also a provider of infrastructure to facilitate other projects, these include many possibilities including :

1. Housing of the SA website (Advantages include cost saving and user friendly platform to enable an update to our current website)

2. Co-Oplink - There is community platform available within this database system that could be of use in the Co-Oplink project.

3. Training platform - both internally within Subud for helper and committee roles and/or for Subud Enterprises.

4. Worldwide Usage - There is functionality to make this a worldwide member database - it will of course need to prove itself first within Australia.

5. Bapak Talks - this software can house video and audio and it uses the premier video housing platform (Wistia). So it could house Bapak's talks and provide an interent portal to the Subud Library (Advantages include cost savings, and tight integration with a Subud member databases allowing many other features not currently available to us that will enhance our members use of this library).

Back Out Plan

If at any stage after migrating our data to this platform SA wishes to no longer use it then the procedure to backout all our data and migrate to another platform or migrate back to google sheets is of zero cost and takes aproximately 5 minutes.

Caveats

Costs for maintaining this database are estimated to be zero with the following Caveats.

Expanded Implementation

Additionally manpower hours maybe required if any of the projects listed in the Future Directions section leverage the infrastructure detailed in the video. However, such costs would fall within the remit of those other projects.

Software Costs

The Kajabi and Zapier licenses are currently provided for free by Jonathan, licenses are per year and next renewable in Nov 2020. "I have been using this software for over 5 years and have no intention of changing this so I'm happy to donate usage of this software to SA for the forseable future" - Jonathan.

However if SA is uncomfortable with this setup they can of course purchase their own software licenses once this project has proved itself successful.
